At Arena Racing Company we realise that on a raceday or event, our customers are most likely to meet and interact with one of our team of over 4,000 casual workers than they are one of our employees. As such, we want to make sure our casual workers are the best in class; friendly, approachable and willing to go the extra furlong to make sure that the customer service we provide is the very best.

Being a casual worker gives you the flexibility to work the hours you want, when you want. With a business as large as ours and with work available across the UK 365 days per year, there’s no shortage of chances to come and work with us.

In catering, for example you could be working in a restaurant, serving guests their delicious food, working on a bar, in a hospitality box, in one of our many retail outlets, setting up before racedays and so on. A great chance to build up your transferable skills.

If being outdoors is more your cup of tea, then perhaps you could work as a fence attendant - close to the action, or as a raceday steward who are the guardians of our enclosures, scanning tickets, cleaning the stables, you name it, there’s work with your name on it. Chatting to our guests is such a great way to boost your confidence and meet new people.

We offer you the chance to come and work with our core teams across the group; you will find that we are hard-working, and we expect the same from you. In return, we offer competitive pay rates and other benefits alongside. We look forward to welcoming you to the team.

The People

S. Rigby

Casual Hospitality staff, Newcastle Stadium

I started working as Casual staff over 5 years ago while on maternity leave.  I found the exciting character and atmosphere of the stadium with its friendly staff so much fun that I’ve continued to work here ever since. After being here for so long I now see it more as a family, knowing the regulars and seeing them each week brings a lovely local feel to work. My hours fit around my life and I’m able to decide the shifts I like

Being a Casual member of staff has been ideal for me as the offered work hours are outside of my university time table, therefore I am able to get my studies completed and hold down a job at the same time.
