Main purpose of the job:          

Reporting to the Head of Digital, this role is responsible for developing the user experience on all ARC digital properties (racecourse websites/apps, corporate/subsidiary websites, internally developed CMS/admin tools), liaising with digital colleagues and business stakeholders to define and translate requirements into engaging visual designs and intuitive user journeys that deliver the desired user goals.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for developing the user experience on all ARC digital properties, adopting a mobile first, responsive design approach
  • Define digital design standards and guidelines, working collaboratively with racecourse designers and agencies to ensure buy-in and adherence across the business
  • Liaise with digital colleagues and business stakeholders to define and translate requirements into engaging visual designs and intuitive user journeys
  • Create user stories (in conjunction with Digital colleagues) to articulate requirements and regularly communicate progress with business stakeholders throughout the development cycle
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, visual designs which provide the framework upon which technical delivery can be implemented
  • Manage the creation, curation and deployment of assets required to support digital executions
  • Ensure user journeys within and across pages are straight-forward, making it easy for visitors to achieve their goals (i.e. find information, make an enquiry, book tickets)
  • Ensure page designs and user journeys work effectively and efficiently for mobile, desktop, and tablet users and across supported browsers
  • Manage the QA process to ensure all developments are delivered to the design brief and agreed acceptance criteria
  • Develop and administer an AB/multi-variate testing programme alongside regular UX/UI reviews to continually evolve ARC’s digital user experience

Skills & Experience

  • Significant digital UX/UI experience with strong creative design skills
  • Expert user of Adobe Design Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience of delivering responsive wireframes/prototypes using Invision, Sketch or similar tools
  • Focus on user journeys which make it easy for users to complete their digital missions
  • Experience of working within or alongside an Agile development team
