About the role:
This is a high-impact role central to delivering an exceptional experience for owners, trainers, sponsors, community partners, and VIP stakeholders. As a strategic operational and relationship leader, you will guide the Business Coordinators team, oversee key commercial and logistical functions, and play a pivotal part in shaping and delivering major initiatives, including the St Leger Festival’s 250th Anniversary programme and the “250 Community Groups” engagement project.
You will lead the development and execution of sponsorship sales activity, proactively identifying and securing new commercial opportunities while strengthening and retaining existing partnerships. Through a focused acquisition and retention strategy, you will drive sustainable revenue growth and maximise partnership value.
Blending strong people leadership with outstanding stakeholder engagement and event delivery expertise, you will deepen commercial relationships, enhance the profile of the venue, and contribute to its continued growth within the community and the wider racing industry.

The ideal Business Manager will bring:
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder, partnership, or client relationship management, ideally gained within the events, hospitality, sport, or leisure sectors.
- Proven leadership capability, with the ability to motivate, organise, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging a range of stakeholders.
- Strong financial awareness, including experience in budget management and cost control.
- The ability to thrive in live event environments, maintaining composure and a solutions-focused approach under pressure.
- A highly organised and commercially driven mindset, underpinned by strong project management expertise.
