Who is Sedgefield Racecourse?
One of the country's friendliest racecourses, with a reputation for a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Set in the beautiful Durham countryside, Sedgefield Racecourse hosts 20 fixtures over the year and is also available for venue hire.
About the role:
To assist in maintaining a quality racing surface all year round. Maintenance of all racing areas and the wider Sedgefield racecourse concourse to the highest possible standard of presentation. To assist, when available, with the maintenance of buildings and equipment as well as assisting in the operational aspects of Racedays and other Racecourse Events. Responsible for preparing the course for racing – to include watering, mowing, fertilizing, spraying, ‘treading in’, aeration, rolling and seeding as required.
The person we are looking for as a Head Groundsperson has….
- Experience of leading and managing a team of people.
- Experience as a Groundsperson at a sports venue
- Is GMA Level 3 qualified
- Strong communication skills – able to communicate at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work to strict pressured deadlines.
