About the role:

The Racing Sales Executive will work within the newly created Regional Commercial Team, driving the commercial success of the region and wider group. This position will drive commercial sales by the effective conversion of racing (hospitality and sponsorship) enquires, with focus on upsell, account management and driving repeat business. Where required, this role will also include pro-active sales to both existing clients and the identification and conversion of new business.

This position will work closely with the regional delivery team to ensure efficient client management and the highest levels of customer service. Candidates should be highly driven, with a positive attitude, the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities of a Racing Sales Executive…

  • Maximise revenue from current clients through targeted upselling, cross-selling, and account management, ensuring solutions align with client needs and commercial objectives.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities as Racing Sales or EVH, providing best-fit solutions in terms of product, racecourse, or event packages.
  • Respond to all enquiries professionally and within agreed timescales, maintaining a positive client experience throughout.
  • Manage bookings and administration using tools like Eventmaster, ensuring accurate contracts, pricing, and timings that align with the commercial model.
  • Apply sales incentives where appropriate to convert leads, working within defined commercial parameters set by the Senior Racing Sales Executive.
  • Coordinate client visits and show-rounds in partnership with on-site teams, supporting FAM activity and maintaining a high standard of client engagement.
  • Ensure a smooth handover to the regional delivery team with ongoing communication pre-, during, and post-event to support seamless execution.
  • Manage post-event relationships, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to drive repeat business.
  • Support sales reporting and planning, assisting the Senior Racing Sales Executive with analysis, insights, and the preparation of the annual commercial sales plan.
  • Conduct business development with existing and new clients, staying commercially aware and contributing to product and market development.
  • Represent the business at FAM events, key client meetings, industry exhibitions, and actively participate in regular sales meetings.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience at every stage, aligned with group standards and expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.

The person we are looking for as a Racing Sales Executive has…..

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track record managing large-scale, high-value events (£10k+ single-client revenue).
  • Demonstrated success in hitting sales targets through proactive account management and client retention strategies.
  • Strong understanding of client and account management, combined with excellent influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • High-level commercial acumen, with the ability to apply sound financial judgement within a structured sales model.
  • Performs well under pressure and thrives when working towards stretching financial targets.
  • Strong customer service focus, both internally and externally, maintaining professionalism and responsiveness.
