About the role:
The HR Officer will be responsible for all general human resources administration on site at Wolverhampton Racecourse and a limited headcount across other midlands venues, working under the Head of People Operations (Racing).
Responsibilities
Resourcing/Recruitment
- Manage the recruitment process including advert compilation, selection, interviews and appointment.
- To coordinate and conduct inductions, arranging meetings with appropriate staff.
- To support Staffing Managers ensuring that appropriate paperwork is in place for all casual workers in order to meet legislative requirements and maintain casual worker status.
Employee Relations
- Work closely with senior and line managers, providing them with expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, restructuring, investigations, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters, performance management, redundancy planning etc.), in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management.
Learning and Development
- Ensure the Company’s performance appraisal system is implemented effectively.
- Follow up individual development needs and source training provisions as required, monitoring costs against budget.
- Maintain training records for all staff and assist with any training initiatives, as required.
Reporting/other
- Monitor sickness and absence levels and take action as necessary.
- Review and manage new starter and leaver processes, including conducting exit interviews for all staff.
- Manage maternity/paternity/shared parental leave administration and flexible working requests.
- Manage health issues and medical referrals.
- Manage the information held and personnel files to ensure it is updated in a timely and accurate manner and complies with any legal or data protection policies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as reasonably required to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative capacity with proven success
- CIPD Level 3
- Capable in all MSOffice packages
- HR experience preferable
