MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The supervision of all cleaning staff focusing on their performance in terms of standards of cleanliness and their behaviour whilst on duty
  • Ensuring that a first class cleaning service is delivered to all areas of the building
  • Reviewing work schedules
  • Ordering of cleaning materials
  • Monitoring of all cleaning activities
  • Ensuring all staff are aware of the Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Clean glass and floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned area. Empty litter bins and containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages. Clean and maintain lights.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in all areas within remit.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary. Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to Manager.
  • Follow Company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury. Leading a team to do the same.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., using the appropriate risk assessments.
  • Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Be conscious of the site Horse-Awareness policies and safe working practices specific to our site. 
  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).

  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)

  • Cleaning Protocol

  • Post caution signs (e.g., wet floor signs) to limit traffic when necessary.
  • Contact the Maintenance team directly for urgent repairs (where health and safety may be compromised).
  • Select appropriate cleaning chemicals and necessary personal protective equipment for various surfaces and cleaning jobs, following internal guidelines and corporate standards.
  • Respond promptly to requests from your Manager and other Managers in response to Customer needs.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues.
  • Public and Employee Spaces

  • Clean public and employee toilets and showers, including stocking bathroom with adequate paper goods and soap, cleaning all surfaces, and emptying bins.
  • Clean glass (e.g., windows, mirrors) in public and employee areas by removing dust, spots, and smears.
  • Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment (e.g., mops, buffers, vacuums, wet vacuum, extractor, shampoo machine, stain remover).
  • Dust surfaces in assigned area, including furniture, fixtures, woodwork, pictures, phones, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, and air vents.
  • Empty rubbish containers, ashtrays, and ash urns into proper containers for recycling or disposal.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages to Manager/Supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain lights by wiping lamps, light fixtures, and light switches, checking that they are in proper working condition, and reporting burnt-out bulbs.
  • Provide litter picking duties at Racemeetings and events as required.  On these occasions ensure the site is presented at its best throughout the event by collecting litter, emptying bins and supporting the F&B Porters in returning glasses and jugs to bars as appropriate.
  • Provide toilet attendant duties at events as required by Customer needs.  On these occasions ensure the cleanliness and availability of resources (soap, toilet tissue, hand towels) throughout the event towards an enhanced Customer experience.
  • Other

  • To comply with all Health and Safety procedures associated with the department at all times. This relates to:
    • Standards and procedures of correct working practices
    • The completion of risk assessments
    • COSHH regulations
    • Use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • To control wastage and operate according to the Companies environment policy with regard to:
    • product control and waste minimisation
    • proper care and maintenance of equipment to prolong its life
    • using towels in appropriate quantity to minimise unnecessary laundering
    • proper separation and disposal of cardboard, paper and glass in recycling bins
    • minimising energy wastage by switching off unused lights, heating, PCs and equipment
